CHRIS & DANIELLE: ROMANTIC ESTATE WEDDING AT ANTRIM 1844 IN CARROLL COUNTY, MD // MARYLAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
We have been SO excited to share this blog post about Chris and Danielle's gorgeous wedding day at Antrim 1844 Country House and Hotel in Taneytown, MD! This couple has been amazing from day one and Jimmy and I have been so happy that they chose us to celebrate their wedding day with them. From the first time we met, we knew they were going to be so much fun to work with -- they proved us right during their engagement session and even more-so on their wedding day! The love they share pours out all around them and makes you feel romantic and gushy right along with them! That is truly one of the best parts about capturing wedding day's as a husband and wife team, we get to be surrounded by and experience love over and over again on one of the happiest day's of our client's lives!
Not only do Chris and Danielle radiate love, but their families also beam with love and support for the two of them! One of the sweetest moments of the day was when Danielle and her Mom shared a quick, private moment under the cherry blossoms. I showed them the back of my camera so they could see this sweet moment that had just been snapped, and her Mom's eyes welled up with tears (as did mine because I'm a sap for lovey things). You can tell Danielle and her Mom are so close and I love grabbing these little instants!
After their ceremony at St. John's Cathohlic Church in Westminster, MD, we arrived to the Antrim and started taking photos of the bridal party near the pool. In this area there were the most stunning cherry blossom trees in full bloom!! We were so ecstatic because this was such a wonderful surprise and it matched the bridesmaids dresses so beautifully! Not to mention, they were the perfect shelter from the rain! Even though the weather on this day wasn't as sunny and bright as their engagement session was, I would argue that the rain possibly made it better! Yes, I said BETTER! Rain on a wedding day is said to be good luck and on this day as we headed in to the garden, I asked them if they knew why that was the case. They said they weren't sure but that they figured it was to make the Bride and Groom feel better about the rainy day! We told them that when you get married it is called "tying the knot", but rain is a sign of good luck because you cannot easily untie a wet knot and so your bond is even stronger! There are many beliefs for why rain is a good thing on your wedding day, but this one is our favorite!
After we finished bridal party portraits and some romantic portraits of Chris and Danielle, it was time to get the party started! They were totally prepared to have a good time with sombreros and maracas to also celebrate Cinco De Mayo! After first dances, dinner, and their cake cutting, we decided to steal them away (as we always love to do!) for a few more portraits as it got a little darker outside. We didn't get a "golden hour" but we got the most awesome looking stormy night sky! To top it off -- that rain looks AMAZING in front of the fountain, and those rain drops were a perfectly romantic way to end the night! We cannot wait for Chris and Danielle to receive their entire wedding gallery soon and see all of the amazing moments from their day! Here's to a long life of love and adventure! Enjoy every moment!
